Getting in the Christmas Spirit!

Christmas time is here!  We've been busy getting ready for Christmas & Owen is loving every minute of it.
We went to the Holiday fest in downtown South Lyon where he saw Santa and met Thunder the reindeer.
He was a little afraid of Santa, but definitely not scared of Thunder (not surprising for our little animal lover!)

We went to a local farm and picked out our Christmas tree.  It was a pretty cold day, but we found a great one.  Owen really enjoyed putting all his ornaments on the tree, if you see our tree you'll know where Owen's are.  He put them all in a small 2-foot area, it didn't make sense to him to spread them out!

New Addition

Since our new house has an extra bedroom . . . we thought we'd fill it!

Baby Zischke #2 is due June 8th, 2010!!

We are all very excited about the new addition to our family.  I'm glad to be past the 1st trimester sickness and have been feeling pretty good for the last several weeks.

Owen understands a little, though I'm sure he has no idea how much this will change our lives!
He has started calling the baby "Tasha" after one of the characters on The Backyardians, a current favorite cartoon.

We had a great Thanksgiving weekend! We started with a cousins sleepover on Wed. night, a yummy turkey dinner with the Nelson/Keller family on Thursday and Christmas shopping & decorating the last couple of days! Owen will really be sad tomorrow when Daddy has to go back to work :(

During my early morning bargain shopping on Friday I bought a new, smaller, fit-in-your pocket camera. This will hopefully help me take more pictures in the next several months. The blog posts have been scarce lately because I seriously didn't take any pictures between Halloween & Thanksgiving!! Our nicer camera is great but a little bulky to just have on hand to capture the silly, every day things.

Halloween

We had a fun Halloween this year! Owen really got into the trick-or-treating and came home with tons of candy!

Pumpkin Painting & Carving

Owen & Daddy carving a pumpkin. Owen was grossed out by the pumpkin guts. He washed his hands 3 times and lost interest before it was done.

We let Owen paint the little pumpkin he had picked out. This activity was more up his alley.

We had a book from the library this week called "Chicks & Salsa." In it the farm animals have a fiesta & the cow wears a sombrero. Owen was thrilled when I actually found one in a box with old Halloween stuff. He honestly wouldn't take it off the whole morning.

Owen's New Playroom

I wanted to post pictures of Owen's playroom in our new house. We decided to use the formal dining room area for our toy room! Owen really likes it and depends much of his day here. He gets really excited to show off his toys when friends come over.
