5 Silly Monkeys

So yesterday I was goofing around with Owen & I kept calling him different animals.  He was getting frustrated that I wasn't calling him "Owen" so he looks at me and screams
"I'M NOT AN ANIMAL.  I'M A PER-SON!!"  I about peed my pants laughing . . . fast forward to the evening when I'm going through the last several months of pictures, getting ready for a big order.  I came across this series of photos from the farm back in May.  We were trying to get a nice picture of the 5 boys all sitting together.  It was seriously like trying to tame 5 monkeys all at the same time!  Enjoy the commentary.

Justin: "YES! I'm by Ben"

Ben: "Seriously, I can't get away from this kid.  His behavior is horrible."

Adam: "If I fall, how many stitches will I need this time?"
No kids looking at the camera.

 

Justin:  "I'll pretend to be good."

Ben:  "Mom? Dad? Help?"

Adam: "This guy could totally catch me if I fall"
Again no one looking at the camera

Owen:  "I can't watch"

Ben: "Uh-oh here it comes"

Adam: "The cement looks harder than the coffee table.  I shouldn't risk it."

Justin: "I have a question, why did I get moved?"

Ben: "This guy looks ok.  He hasn't hit me yet."

Still no one looking

Justin:  "That's ok, I'll just torment my brother"

Ben:  "Uh-oh that green shirt guy is raising his hand now"

Adam & Noah half looking

Justin:  "Got his ear"

Ben:  Super happy with his seat now, green shirt boy is harmless

1 or 2 kids looking, only 1 smile so far

Owen:  "MOM!"

3 of 5 looking, 2 smiles, might be as good as it gets!

1st Birthday Cake

Justin turned 1!!!  Sadly, most of the pictures from his birthday party were taken by other people.  I do have the cake pictures though.  And when it comes to a 1st birthday all anyone cares about it the cake pictures.  Enjoy!

Owen 4th Birthday Party

It's Carnival Time!  We had a backyard carnival for Owen's birthday this year.  It was really fun to have his first "friends" party.  I think the kids had a great time.

#1 Reason I Don't Update My Blog

My updates have been scarce, I realize.  I really would love to post photos and comments from our fun-filled last 2 months.  However, these days all my time is taken up by this one!  He is on the go & needs to be watched like a hawk 100% of the time.

This is the boy who pulled out Owen's bottom drawer just enough so he could stand on it & try to climb up on top of the dresser.

This is the boy who was trying to pull the outlet covers off . . . . with his mouth!!

This is the boy who will push his big truck over to the stairs, try to stand on it & boost himself over the safety gate.

These are the brothers, who together will give me gray hair very soon but who keep me smiling all day!

Snow!

Friday we got a ton of snow.  Owen couldn't wait to go out & play.  I bundled up Justin too and decided to take both of them outside for a little bit.

But things went downhill quickly!  Not a fan of the snow.

He wanted me to bury him in the snow!  Owen is laughing so hard in this picture it looks like he's crying.



I am working on a Christmas post but still need to sort through all the pictures!

Owen's Update

Owen is now three and a half!  Where has the time gone?  He started preschool this fall.  Owen really likes his teachers and has made several new friends.  A few of the other moms have told me that their children talk about Owen all the time.  Not sure this is a good or bad thing!  He seems to be genuinely nice to all the other kids and I'm proud of him for adjusting so well to school.

Owen is really a great big brother.  Most of the time he is gentle with Justin and loves him to pieces.  I know Owen wishes that Justin was big enough to play trains & wrestle right now!  Here's a few pictures from the last couple months.

Owen was Buzz Lightyear (from the Toy Story movie) for Halloween.  He loved trick-or-treating!

This was Owen's special Thanksgiving hat he made in school.  Once we sat down to dinner everyone went around the table to say what they were thankful for.  Owen went last and he said "I'm thankful for Justin, even though he sometimes grabs his [insert private part]"

Nice.  I can't make this stuff up.



We took a family trip to Three Cedars to pick out a Christmas tree & visit Santa.  Surprisingly Owen was all about Santa & we got some really cute pictures of the boys.
